Are you passionate about supporting individuals in crisis and creating a safe, welcoming environment? Harbor House is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated individual to lead our 2nd shift shelter operations. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors.
What You Will Do:
- Receive incoming calls to the shelter, respond to inquiries, and determine appropriate action.
- Admit eligible clients and refer ineligible prospects to appropriate agencies.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and prepared for incoming clients.
- Provide assistance and support for shelter clients and children.
- Support clients in achieving goals and collaborate with staff on treatment plans.
- Supervise and assist clients in daily requirements and enforce shelter guidelines.
- Manage daily shelter operations including security monitoring and safety response.
- Prepare, serve, and clean up meals; maintain meal logs.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Complete shelter laundry and maintain stock of supplies.
- Receive and acknowledge donations.
- Refer domestic violence victims to outreach and community services.
- Record incident reports and work orders in the system.
- Attend required domestic violence trainings.
- Enter program demographics and service data.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need to Bring to the Table
- High school diploma required; undergraduate degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Class C driver’s license, motor vehicle, and insurance required.
- Experience in counseling, domestic violence, or social services preferred.
- Ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable using a computer and Microsoft products.
